My mind is filled with questions
She answers them with lies
Words of false wisdom pour from her mouth
She treats the words as if they’re soft as silk
When really they cut like a blade
Bittersweet tears of joy
Fall to the ground
He’d push me right next to them
If I wasn’t there already.
I wear a mask to hid my face
I wish you saw me better than I really am
For as the words of this poem
Wash over you
They will drown me
As they ripped at my poise
Long ago
Then I woke
To see the sunrise
And the stars fade
And shimmering moon dust covering my pale face
With only our wretched love in my cold heart
And our faces on my wall.
